Alex Murphy
On March 8, 2009, five students from St. Joseph School competed in the 11th Annual Connecticut Catholic School Spelling Bee. The 4th grade contestants were: Sarah Pasqualetti, Hanna and Haley Russo (alternates). From Grade 5 the contestants were Alex and George Murphy (alternate).
Alex Murphy placed 2nd on the 5th grade level. The competition was held at St. Bernard School in Norwich.
Congratulations to all the participants and congratulations to Alex for placing 2nd for all of Connecticut at his level. That is a commendable achievement!
